Who is a Travel Mama?
You are!  If you want to travel with children...and stay sane, this site is for you!
This site is for mamas (and daddies and grandparents!) who need a break from their every day lives, want to see the world, experience new cultures, and maybe even indulge in a spa treatment or margarita while away. Travel Mamas is a community of regular women and men like you who want to learn and share not only how to survive a trip with children, but also how to love exploring the world with their families.
What was the inspiration for TravelMamas.com?
When I became a parent I searched for a book or website on how to travel with a baby or child.

There was very little information available at the time. I wanted tell-it-like-it-is advice from real moms who had traveled before me. So I started asking for guidance on how and where to travel with children from friends, acquaintances, and any other Travel Mama I met. As I continued to travel and gather tips, I began to write a book on how to travel with babies and children...and stay sane! Take this very short survey and help me name my book.

After I signed with a literary agent, I launched the website I wished had existed when I first became a mom. TravelMamas.com provides travel tips, packing lists, giveaways, and stories for parents and caregivers of children of all ages.

a trip to San Antonio, Texas

I have taken many trips since I had my first baby in 2005. My travels vary from road trips, cruises, family visits, and tropical vacations to foreign tours, amusement park adventures, and more. When I am not traveling, I am reading travel memoirs and dreaming about my next vacation.

I gather information from interviews with experts in the travel and child development industries as well as from other traveling moms like you. And, of course, I learn a lot from my own travels with my family! I find and share links with you to useful travel and parenting resources on TravelMamas.com. By using this site, you will learn from my research and the collective wisdom of fellow Travel Mamas.

I am a regular contributor to the CheapOair blog and the On-the-Go Vlogger for Barilla's Piccolini TV.

I was the editor for the Tree.com Travel Blog, one of 14 channels of a social media site launched by Lending Tree and RealEstate.com. When I was editor, the Tree.com Travel Blog was named one of the Top 11 New Travel Blogs by renowned travel writer, Christopher Elliott on his world famous blog, Elliott.org.

As a freelance writer, my articles have been published in such magazines as Babytalk Magazine, San Diego Family, and 101 Things To Do San Diego. Additionally, I have written guest posts for numerous blogs and travel websites.

I also teach blogging and baby travel classes.

I have a master's degree in business administration with a background in marketing.
