Sleep Tips

• Recreate at-home nap-time and bed-time rituals while away. Be sure to pack your child's favorite lovey and bedtime stories to make your new digs seem more familiar.

• Book a suite, connecting rooms, or rent a home or condo for your vacation if you think your family will have difficulties sleeping in one room together.

• If staying all in one room, bring a book light, like one by LightWedge for post-baby-bedtime reading.

• Do whatever you can to keep your child's nap schedule intact! Plan all activities around ensuring naps are taken. When it doesn't work, don’t stress…just adjust your schedule, adjust your expectations, and adjust your attitude!

• Take scenic drives or burn off those extra vacation calories during strategically-timed walks to induce naps-on-wheels if your child refuses to nap in a crib while away from home.

• If your child doesn't sleep well in a stroller, try using a front carrier (like one by ERGO baby) for on-the-go naps.

• Book a room with a patio or balcony to avoid naptime cabin fever, especially if you have a "room sleeper."
