It was such a relief not to assemble a bag full of travel toys, coloring books, stickers, and engaging activities for my two children before our last trip. The Birth of TravelKiddy
TravelKiddy is the brainchild of Jennifer Untermyer, a mother of four daughters aged three to nine. She says, “I decided to start TravelKiddy shortly after we moved back to the U.S. from Hong Kong. We travel extensively with our kids and I was unable to find high quality activity kits on the market so I was spending hours creating my own. After requests from friends, family members, and a few flight attendants I started making them for others.”

There is a TravelKiddy to meet the entertainment needs of any traveler, no matter the age! The Toddler Travel Collection is available with stacking cups, puzzles, toys, craft items, and a chunky book to slip into a diaper bag. There’s even a PuzzleKiddy for big kids aged 9 to adult, complete with brain teasers and games of all sorts.

Jennifer sent my family a TravelKiddy for ages 3 to 6 to test out during our road trip from San Diego to Phoenix and back. It’s contents kept my children entertained while in the car as well as during restaurant meals and back at the hotel room.

My kindergartner proudly pronounces to anyone who will listen, “I am an artist.” Therefore her favorite items in the activity kit were the crayons and the Big & Easy coloring book. I appreciated that the Crayola crayons came in a easily closed plastic soap dish. This ingenious container kept them from getting broken or lost during our travels.

My two-and-a-half-year-old son preferred the Wikki Stix (which I had to twist together again and again for him), a miniature tic-tac-toe game on which he loved to flip the o’s and x’s with his chubby little hands, and a band-aid dispenser stocked with bandages.

Both of my children adored the Create-A-Scene Stickers! These sticker scenes (like a fish bowl, jungle full of monkeys, or princess scene) are also a favorite of Jennifer’s children. 

I was impressed with the “Return Travel Kit” that came in a separate zipper-locked plastic bag filled with another activity book, a few miniature toys, another small pack of Wikki Stix, and some other goodies. I kept this hidden from the kids throughout our trip and it was a nice surprise for them during our drive home.
