Audio-Animatronics is a form of robotics created by Walt Disney Imagineering for shows and rides at Disney amusement parks. The robots move and sing or talk using hydraulics set to pre-recorded words or songs. a) Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room at Disneyland was the first attraction to use Audio-Animatronics in 1963. It features over 150 singing and talking birds and flowers plus a “magic” fountain that stretches and changes colors during the show.
The Enchanted Tiki Room is one of my family’s favorite Disneyland attractions, especially on a hot summer day. (Did you know that the Tiki Room was also the first building at the park to be fully air-conditioned?)

No wonder I liked the Tiki Room on those hot summer days – air conditioning!!! Fun especially for kids under 6 or so.
Great bit of trivia!
Just for the record, my guess was wrong.
I was sure it was “It’s a small world”.
That is still one of my favorite attractions at Disney, because the kids love it (and it is a great place for mommy and daddy to cool off)!

I knew this one, and I agree that it’s a great place to hide out from the sun. Actually if it’s open, this might be a perfect place to catch a few zzz’s during our 24 hour Disney marathon in a couple of weeks. I just hope they’ve resynced the birds and the audio track. It was way out last time I visited.

My family’s Disney favorite is the Little Mermaid Ride. I’m not sure how long it has been around though but that’s where my daughter usually asks us to go every time we visit Disney. We also have noticed that Ariel there seem to have more impressive movements compared to the other displays which makes the show more realistic. Thanks for the great trivia Colleen!
